Fine Rib carpet tiles are made using the needle punch technique. This common manufacturing process makes it very easy to produce large quantities of this product quickly and easily at an affordable price. The yarn is repeatedly punched through a backing layer using very fine needles, to provide the fine corduroy finish to the top cloth. The newly produced cloth is then backed with bitumen before being cut into individual square tiles at the end of the assembly line.
This type of carpet tile is often produced using 100% polypropylene fibre. The fine rib are priced at the budget end of the market but still offer the same hard wearing properties and good resistance to stains as higher specification tiles. This type of carpet tile is often used in communal buildings, such as conference rooms or open spaces like exhibition centres and showrooms as they are perfect for covering a large area at a very low price.
